A joint venture between
Geodynamics Limited of Brisbane, Australia, and Kentor Energy Pty Limited, also of Brisbane, a subsidiary of
Kentor Gold Limited, plans to begin drilling exploratory wells for its planned 20- to
30 MWe geothermal power plant project on Savo island in the Solomon Islands, following the completion of an environmental and social impact assessment in February.
The joint venture is planning to commence an initial exploration drilling campaign of four slim hole wells in the dry season of 2014 and, with successful results, will undertake further production drilling to target first power generation in 2017.
