Renewable Energy Gets a Boost in France (reNew)

The European Investment Bank (EIN) is to pump €750m into renewable energy projects in France from now to 2016.

The funding drive launched today will target wind, solar, hydro and geothermal schemes and aims to mitigate the effects of climate change.

The funding will be implemented in collaboration with Société Générale Corporate & Investment Banking, Credit Agricole Group and BPCE Group.

Beneficiaries can be public or private entities and loans granted by the EIB will represent 50% of the required funding for selected projects with a capital cost of less than €50m.
