More Leyte Geothermal Deals Awarded (BusinessWorld Online Edition)
Trans-Asia Oil and Energy Development Corp. has received the notice of award as one of the independent power producer administrators (IPPAs) of the Unified Leyte geothermal power plants’ (ULGPP) contracted capacities, according to its disclosure yesterday.
The other winning bidders for the strips of energy were: FDC Utilities, Inc. for 40 MW; Unified Leyte Geothermal Energy Inc. (ULGEI), a wholly owned subsidiary of the Energy Development Corporation (EDC), for 40 MW; Good Friends Hydro Resources Corp. for 20 MW; and Waterfront Mactan Casino Hotel, Inc. for 3 MW.
Last Monday, Aboitiz Energy Solutions, Inc. and Vivant Energy Corp. also got notices of award for 40 MWe and 17 MWe capacities, respectively.
These firms had been identified as three of the seven winning bidders in the IPPA auction conducted by PSALM for the ULGPP in November last year.
PSALM intends to conduct another bidding for the IPPA of the remaining contracted capacity of the plant in September next year.
