Iran:
First Geothermal Power Plant to Open in the New Iranian Year (Utilities ME)
The managing director of Iran Power Generation Transmission & Distribution Management Company (TAVANIR) said the first geothermal power plant in the country will launch in the next Iranian year (starting March 21, 2014).
In a previous announcement a pilot 5 MWe geothermal power plant was slated, the first of its kind in the Middle East, with a total capacity of 50 MWe after more turbines are installed.
