Maibarara Geothermal Power Plant to be Better Connected (Manila Bulletin)

The 20 MWe Maibarara geothermal power plant (MGPP) has secured regulatory approval for its dedicated point-to-point connection facility with the Manila Electric Company (Meralco) electrical grid.

Project developer Maibarara Geothermal Inc. said that it entered into an interconnection agreement with Meralco “for the physical interconnection of the generation and connection facilities of MGPP to Meralco’s distribution system.”

The project, according to the ERC filing, involves construction of 6.0 kilometer 115 kilovolt line from the MGPP’s switchyard to Meralco’s 115-kV line in Calamba City, Laguna.
