Geothermal Engineering Ltd. Wins £800,000 Government Grant (ThinkGeoEnergy)

London based Geothermal Engineering Ltd. has announced it “has been awarded a grant of £800,000 from the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DEEC) to work on new methods of deep geothermal heat extraction. The grant will enable the company to design and trial the new system early in 2014.

Dr Ryan Law, Managing Director of Geothermal Engineering Ltd said that, “We are pleased that DECC saw the potential in the system we are proposing and very much look forward to completing a successful field trial early in 2014. We are already in discussions with a number of parties that are interested in deploying this new type of heat system and hope that this will be a game changer for the UK deep geothermal heat industry.”
