Project will have two phases adding up to a total of 100 MWe and plans to start drilling in the first trimester of 2014
Mexxus RG, a joint venture formed by Mexxus Drilling International and Reykjavik Geothermal has been awarded a Geothermal Resources License to develop the Ceboruco Geothermal Prospect in the Western portion of the Mexican Volcanic belt in the state of Nayarit.
Mexxus Drilling is a leading Mexican geothermal drilling services provider with experience primarily in support of ComisiĆ³n Federal de Electricidad (CFE)’s geothermal activities in Mexico.
The project will be divided in two phases; Phase 1 for 30 MWe and Phase 2 for 70 MWe. The company has plans to begin the exploratory drilling phase in the first quarter of 2014. The Ceboruco Geothermal Concession is the first geothermal Independent Power Producer (IPP) project in Mexico.
