New EIA for Geothermal Plant in NE Iceland Not Needed (Iceland Review)
Engineering firm Elfa concluded in a new report presented yesterday that a new overall Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for a proposed 45-90 MW geothermal power plant at Bjarnarflag near Lake Mývatn in Northeast Iceland is unnecessary.
The evaluation, carried out on behalf of Landsvirkjun national power company, stated that fundamental changes have not occurred to the basic condition or legal framework since the last EIA for Bjarnarflag was made ten years ago.
