Oregon Institute of Technology Breaks Ground on Renewable Energy Projects (Herald and News)

The Oregon Institute of Technology (OIT) in Klamath Falls, Oregon, has broken ground on several renewable energy projects designed to make the campus almost 100 percent carbon neutral, and it's being done at virtually no cost to the university.

A two MW solar array and a new, 1.75 MWe geothermal power plant will make OIT the first college in the nation to produce nearly all of its power on-site with renewable energy. And it's not even close, said Bob Simonton, a renewable energy consultant who is managing the projects.
