Oregon Tech’s Geothermal Power Plant is Full Steam Ahead (News Release - Oregon Institute of Technology)
The Oregon Institute of Technology and Batzer Construction Incorporated of Medford, Oregon entered into a final contract last week to complete the infrastructure and installation of a new 1.75 MWe geothermal power plant at the Oregon Tech Klamath Falls campus.
The agreement marks the final phase for the completion of the project that is expected to be finished in December 2013. Upon completion of this project and the 2.0 MWe solar array project with Solar City, Oregon Tech may become the first university in North America to reach a major goal to generate most—if not all—electrical power needed for the campus.
