Hot Rock gets Geothermal Exploration Permit in Peru (Power Engineering Magazine)

Peru's energy and mines ministry on Friday gave permit to Australian geothermal energy company Hot Rock Ltd to explore for geothermal resources in the Huisco area in the southern Ayacucho region.

The studies will be carried out in Cabana, Carmen Salcedo and Puquio districts during three years. Hot Rock Peru requested the permit in July 2011.

A week earlier the government gave a geothermal exploration permit for the Carmen area in Ayacucho to Italy's Enel Green Power SpA.
