Japanese Ministry Starts Project to Promote Geothermal Power Generation (The Denki Shimbun (Electric Daily News))

Aiming at promoting geothermal power generation, the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) will launch in the next fiscal year a project to support private companies and universities that will conduct technical development and study on geothermal power. The ministry will promote research and development in a wide range of themes such as investigation into new geothermal power development, reduction of drilling costs, and development of high-performance steam turbines for geothermal applications.
