Japanese agency boss boss cautions over exploration of geothermal (Daily Nation)

Exploration of geothermal and other forms of green energy should not adversely affect wild life and the environment, an official of Japan’s state aid agency has said.

The President of Japan International Corporation Agency (Jica), Dr Akihiko Tanaka, said construction of infrastructure in the areas set aside for exploration of geothermal should not hinder free movements of wild animals.

He said geothermal power exploration in many parts of the world experience such challenges because of the delicate environment where the works are carried out.
