Star Energy Builds Wayang Windu Power Plant Unit 3 (Indonesia Finance Today)


Star Energy Geothermal (Wayang Windu) Ltd has allocated around up to US$ 200 million for the development of Wayang Windu geothermal power plant Unit 3 (60 MWe capacity) in Pangalengan, West Java. Yudi Pringadi, Manager of External Relations at Star Energy, says that the power plant—which is part of the 10,000 MW power project phase II—is targeted to operate in 2015.

The company is still waiting to obtain the exploitation permit from the West Java regional government. If the permit is issued in 2012-end, construction of the power plant can be conducted in 2013. “The construction period is around two years. Unit 3 will operate in 2015,” Yudi says.
