BLM Studying Geothermal Leasing in San Luis Valley (DenverPost.com)

The Bureau of Land Management is giving the public a chance to comment on a preliminary environmental assessment of geothermal energy leasing in the San Luis Valley.

The assessment identifies public lands with the potential for geothermal development. It also lists stipulations to be applied to any future leases.

No BLM land has been nominated for geothermal development in the San Luis Valley yet.

Open houses are scheduled March 20 in Saguache and March 21 in Alamosa to accept comments. The deadline to comment is April 10.
