A Geothermal 101 - Resource Exploration and Assessment workshop is to be held at the Imperial Valley Renewable Energy Summit & Expo next week in southern California.
The meeting is to be held March 13-15 at the Barbara Worth Resort and Country Club in Holtville, Ca.
The theme of the fifth annual summit is “The Power to Renew California.”
“Set in the heart of one of California’s most active regions of renewable energy development, the beautifully renovated Barbara Worth Resort provides the perfect setting from which to see and discuss the range of accomplishments and challenges facing the maturing renewable energy industry in the Imperial Valley,” said IVEDC President/CEO Timothy E. Kelley.
In addition to speeches by some of the industry’s most knowledgeable insiders, the Summit offers an expo of vendors and developers, tours of an array of renewable projects already generating energy or under construction and plenty of networking opportunities. The Geothermal 101workshop will highlight the strong presence of geothermal in the region.
“The conference provides a dynamic forum to address emerging issues and showcase the region’s importance in fulfilling California’s ambitious renewable energy goals,” said Rosa Maria Gonzales of the Imperial Irrigation District, who is chairing this year’s event.
Because the region is the focus of geothermal, solar, wind, biomass and biofuel development, the Summit annually attracts hundreds of business and utility leaders, educators, as well as drawing strong participation from all levels of government and international business.
