Germany:

Taufkirchen Project to Start Construction This Fall (Think GeoEnergy)

A recent press statement by German energy and drilling company Daldrup & Söhne, says that the geothermal project in Taufkirchen has now received a green light to start construction of its combined heat and power geothermal plant.

The permitting process was lengthy and difficult, but a final permit was given in early August 2013. This allows the company to proceed with surface construction work this fall.

As part of test runs this year, it is expected that there will be a provision of heating to the local district heating network.

The first revenues are expected to bring around $340,000 in 2013. The start of operation of the combined heat and power plant is then expected for the fall of 2014.
