The Philippines Department of Energy (DOE) has issued the green light to 11 power firms to proceed with the conduct of a grid impact study (GIS) on their planned power projects with over 1,200 megawatts (MW) of capacity.
A clearance for the conduct of a grid impact study is necessary for a power firm before it can proceed with the construction of its power project.
Included in the list is the 120-MW geothermal power project of Aragorn Power & Energy Corp. in Kalinga, Luzon.
