The Philippines Energy Regulatory Commission approved the application of Energy Development Corp. to develop a dedicated point-to-point facility to connect the 31 MW Bac-Man 3 geothermal project to the Luzon grid.
ERC said in a decision the facilities would be constructed in accordance with the system impact study and facility study requirements so as not to result in the degradation of National Grid Corp.’s transmission system.
ERC directed National Grid to operate and maintain the dedicated transmission facility costing P130 million subject to application charges.
ERC said it decided to allow the National Grid operate the facility “in the absence of a definite assurance that the subject facilities will be operated without any adverse effects to the reliability of the grid.”
