USA, Washington:

US Forest Service Taking Comments on Mt. Baker Consent-to-Lease Geothermal Project

This project will analyze nearly 83,378 acres to decide whether or not to consent to lease, an if so, what lease stipulations are necessary to minimize impacts to other resources and comply with law, regulation, policy and Forest Plan Direction.

This project is located northeast of Sedro-Woolley, WA, in Whatcom and Skagit Counties in various watersheds within the Nooksack River and Skagit River Sub-basins.

The Forest Service is scoping for issues related to the proposal that the environmental analysis should address. Your input will be used to analyze the effects of the proposed action, develop alternatives, or focus the scope and extent of the analysis, so please keep them as specific as possible. Your comments would be most useful if received on or before November 28, 2014.
