Vietnam:

The geothermal energy in Champa (a name used for an old kingdom located in what is today central and southern Vietnam from approximately the 7th century through 1832) has great potential, up to date; researches have shown that Champa has more than 200 sources of hot water at temperatures of 40-100 degrees centigrade that provides this Muslim Southeast Asian country the necessary basis for developing prospective geothermal energy projects.

However, the geothermal energy industry of Vietnam is still under-developed, and mostly remains at the researching stage.

The US geothermal group Ormat Technologies has applied for a license to build five geothermal energy plants in Le Thuy in Quang Binh province, Mo Duc and Nghia Thang in Quang Ngai province, in addition to Hoi Van in Binh Dinh province, as well as Tu Bong in Khanh Hoa province. The proposed capacity of these plants is between 150-200MW.
