Germany: Dr. Marit Brommer is the New IGA Executive Director

New IGA Executive Director Dr. Marit Brommer (News Release)

Marit joins us with 10 years of experience in the Oil & Gas Industry where she has gained operational offshore drilling experience (Total) and leading global R&D deployment projects (Shell). Prior to her Industry years she completed her PhD at the TU Delft (Nl) in Reservoir Geology and worked as a consultant at Royal Haskoning in the UK.

She is very excited to take up the position as Executive Director. In my recent conversations with her she said “I am honoured and proud to serve as the new Executive Director of the IGA and I look forward to collaborate with the Board and Secretariat the coming years to raise IGA´s profile, strengthen our activities, and increase the visibility of the Geothermal Industry at regional, national and multilateral level. The world is transitioning into a low-carbon society at a fast pace and I am determined to make Geothermal energy play a fundamental role in the future energy mix.”

Besides her professional interests, Marit is a keen piano player and enjoys playing tennis and go for an evening run. Marit is married with two kids.
