USA, Nevada: Learn About Geology and Geothermal Energy in the Great Basin

‘Great Basin Geology’ lecture set for Feb. 8 in Reno (Reno Gazette Journal)

Truckee Meadows Parks Foundation is hosting “TMPF Talks: Great Basin Geology” on Feb. 8, 6-8 p.m., at the California Building in Reno’s Idlewild Park, 75 Cowan Drive, as part of its quarterly lecture series.

The free and open to the public event will include guest speakers discussing earthquake hazards, fault lines, ancient volcanoes, and geothermal energy of the Great Basin/Truckee Meadows region. TMPF members will receive discounted beer, wine, and light food provisions.

Speakers include:

• Dr. Jim Faulds, Nevada Bureau of Mines and Geology - GRC Member
• Dr. Christopher Henry, research geologist, UNR
• Dr. Annie Kell, education and outreach seismologist, UNR
