Indonesia: State Owned Companies Cooperate to Promote Geothermal Energy Development

Pertamina, PLN Sign Agreement on Geothermal Development (Tempo.co)

State-owned oil and gas company Pertamina and the state electricity company PT PLN (Persero) has signed an electricity and geothermal trade agreement in an effort to promote geothermal power plant investment.

The new agreement and amendment to a previous agreement covers two geothermal power plants (PLTP) operated by Pertamina Geothermal Energy, a subsidiary of Pertamina, namely the PLTP Lahedong and PLTP Kamojang.

"The signing of the geothermal and electricity trade agreement between Pertamina and PLN shows the international community about the government's determination, especially PLN as the off taker in geothermal development," Abadi said in a press conference on Friday, February 12, 2016.
