Croatia: 16.5 MW ORC Geothermal Power Plant Will be Ready by End of 2016

Turkey's MB Holding to build 16.5 MW geothermal power plant in Croatia (News Release)

Turkish company MB Holding has been awarded a contract to build a geothermal power plant with a capacity of 16.5 MW in Croatia, Italian turbogenerators manufacturer Turboden said on Tuesday.

After winning a bid in January, MB Holding holds a permit to build Croatia’s first geothermal plant, which will feature a single axial multi-stage Organic Rankine Cycle turbine designed by Turboden, a group company of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, it said in a statement.

The Velika Ciglena plant will be completed and fully functional by the end of 2016.

In May, the Croatian municipality of Bjelovar, where the Velika Ciglena geothermal field is located, said that the first phase of the power station project is worth 30 million kuna ($4.3 million/3.96 million euro).
