Renewable energy company Emerging Power Inc. (EPI), an affiliate of Nickel Asia Corp. (NAC), has tapped a Filipino-Spanish firm for the operation of a 40 MW geothermal power plant in Naujan, Mindoro.

EPI entered into an agreement with Tamoin Industrial Services Corp. (TISCO) for the project.

Under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), TISCO will provide engineering as well as operations and management (O&M) services for EPI during the construction of the Mindoro geothermal power plant.

TISCO is a joint venture between Tamoin group, a Spanish company based in Bilbao, northern Spain and GAAD Inc., a Filipino company based in Manila.

EPI’s Mindoro Geothermal power project has a renewable energy service contract with the Department of Energy (DOE) which is targeted to be commissioned by the first quarter of 2017.
