Philippines: 12 MW Maibarara-2 Geothermal Expansion Project Moves Along

The Philippine Department of Energy (DOE) has issued a Certificate of Commerciality for a 12 MW geothermal plant expansion by certain subsidiaries of PetroEnergy Resources Corp.

More specifically, the DOE has declared commercial the 12 MW Maibarara-2 (M2) project, which is an expansion of the existing 20 MW Maibarara-1 facility in Batangas.

The project is developed by Maibarara Geothermal Inc which is a 65%-owned subsidiary of PetroEnergy’s renewables arm. The plant is expected to be commissioned over the next two years.
