Procurement Notice Issued for Geothermal Exploratory Drilling Project in Armenia (World Bank)

In a conversation with Armenpress in July 2014, the Director of Renewable Resources and Energy Efficiency Fund of Armenia Tamara Babayan stated that a grant was provided to Armenia by the Climate Investment Fund, which will be directed at the study of opportunities for the development of geothermal energy.

The Republic of Armenia has applied for a SREP Grant in the amount of US$ 8,550,000 equivalent. The Scaling-Up Renewable Energy Program in Low Income Countries (SREP) is a targeted program of the Strategic Climate Fund (SCF), which is one of two funds within the Climate Investment Funds (CIF) framework.
