GTO Makes Available Play Fairway Analysis Posters (EERE/GTO)

Posters Debuted at the Poster Session of the 38th GRC Annual Meeting in Portland, Oregon now made available

The Geothermal Technologies Office (GTO) has invested in play fairway analysis to help geothermal developers to reduce uncertainty in their drilling targets. 

The Geothermal Technologies Office invested $4 million in ten projects to advance and adapt play fairway analysis. Selected awards span the country, from the Aleutian arc in Alaska to the Appalachian basin on the East Coast. The resulting regional, basin-scale maps will serve to quantify and reduce uncertainty for geothermal energy exploration. By improving success rates for exploration drilling, play fairway analysis could significantly lower the costs of geothermal energy while opening up new areas to development
