14 February, 10 a.m.-1 p.m., Jim Hall Foothills Learning Center, 3188 Sunset Peak Road, Boise, ID 83702
Escape the cold and warm up while learning about Idaho’s amazing geothermal features at “Hot Water and Hearts,” a free drop-in program from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Feb. 14 at the Jim Hall Foothills Learning Center in Boise, Idaho.
Amanda Laib, a geology graduate student at Boise State University, will tell us about these underground wonders. We’ll explore the ways the water gets heated up by the Earth and the pathways it follows to reach the surface.
After we become geothermal experts, we will talk about the abundance of geothermal resources right here in Idaho! We’ll build a tabletop geyser, explore the powers of heat and pressure, and more. And since it’s Valentine’s Day, you can also craft a natural valentine for someone you love.
