Geothermal Energy Supplies 130% of Tuscan City Electricity Needs

Thanks to geothermal energy the Tuscan city of Pisa in northern Italy is completely renewable. Enel Green Power produces 2,879.8 GWh from its fifteen plants in the area to more than cover the demands of 2,096 GWh power consumption in the Province of Pisa.

Geothermal energy is therefore able to satisfy more than 130% of the provincial electricity needs.

In all Enel Green Power, produces more than 5,235 GWh from 33 geothermal plants in the provinces of Pisa, Siena and Grosseto which meets 26% of the needs of regional energy consumption of approximately 19,964 GWh.
