E. Idaho school district expanding geothermal use (idahostatesman)

School officials said Eagle Rock Middle School has been using geothermal energy for almost two years, and there has been no change in the quality of the heating and cooling. But officials said the costs are much lower than a conventional heating and cooling system.

"We are (pumping) water that's already 55 degrees, so we have a lot less differential to heat or cool the building," said Director of Operations Kevin Klingler.

School officials said the district could save up to 50 percent on heating and cooling costs using geothermal energy at the four elementary schools. Read more.....
