The GRC is attending the 2012 Imperial Valley Renewable Energy Summit & Expo this week. Sponsored by the Imperial Valley Economic Development Corporation, the event is being held at the Barbara Worth Resort & Country Club.

Today's opener is a tour of the array of renewable projects already generating energy or under construction. Highlights of the trip are the Ormat Heber I & II, and North Brawley geothermal power plants and especially the EnergySource Hudson Ranch I power plant which just announced successful electrical grid synchronization of its as well as outstanding well field test results.
