Ecuador: Chachimbiro Geothermal Project to Install 5 MW Power Plant in 2022

La primera central de generación geotérmica estará en Imbabura - The first geothermal power plant will be in Imbabura (La Hora)

The project is currently in the field development phase - For this first stage it will have a budget of $ 70 million, of which 60 million is financed by the Official Loan from JICA. Also, in this phase, we will also proceed to the assembly of a five megawatt plant, at the wellhead, in the year 2022.

Since March 2018, tests have been carried out in the first exploratory well, with satisfactory results, since temperatures of 235ºC have been found that are ideal for installing a geothermal plant.
