Monday, August 19
New Zealand: Record Annual Geothermal Generation for Mercury - Annual geothermal generation set a record, reaching 2,896 GWh, coinciding with record high annual spot prices caused in part by gas supply and thermal generation constraints from October 2018.

Tuesday, August 20
USA: The Golden State Leads the Country in Geothermal Jobs - The geothermal sector in California employs 2,491 out of a national total of 8,526 - that is just under 30% of geothermal jobs in the USA.

Wednesday, August 21
USA, Nevada: Ormat Sells Interest in 48 MW McGinness Hills Phase 3 Geothermal Power Plant- Ormat will continue to operate and maintain the power plant and will receive substantially all of the distributable cash flow generated by the power plant, and the private investor will receive substantially all of the tax attributes.

Uganda: Opportunity to Bid for Drilling Services at Two Geothermal Energy Prospects- Invitation for Proposals for Drilling Service to Drill Sixteen (16) Temperature Gradient Holes at Kibiro and Panyimur Geothermal Prospects.

USA, Hawaii: Ormat Gets Approval for Two New Wells at Puna Geothermal Venture - But permit approval doesn’t mean that work on new wells will necessarily commence. The applications were a contingency as PGV assessed wells covered by lava during the 2018 eruption of Kilauea volcano.

Friday, August 23
Canada: 5 MW Alberta No. 1 Geothermal Power Project Announced - A first in the province and among the first of its kind in Canada, the facility will generate five megawatts of electricity annually, enough to power 6,800 homes and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 20,000 tonnes per year.

El Salvador: La Geo Plans to Add 80 MW Geothermal Energy Capacity - They hope to finish the negotiations with the World Bank soon to finance the exploitation of the wells of San Vicente and Chinameca.
