Contact Energy has posted a net profit of $276 million for the six months ended December, well up from $58m a year ago, as reported in the latest half-year profit report.
Contact Energy reported record generation of 1,726 GWh from their geothermal power stations, 11% higher than the prior comparative period, as the company obtained a favourable variation to the Wairakei mass take consent and did not repeat the 1H17 planned outage at Te Mihi.
