New Zealand: Record Geothermal Energy Generation Helps Contact to Healthy Profit- Contact Energy reported record generation of 1,726 GWh from their geothermal power stations, 11% higher than the prior comparative period, as the company obtained a favourable variation to the Wairakei mass take consent and did not repeat the 1H17 planned outage at Te Mihi.

El Salvador: Geothermal Energy Developer Promotes Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment - It also highlights how LaGeo used CSR initiatives across numerous impact areas, such as livelihood activities, reforestation and mitigation efforts, social infrastructure development, conservation work, education, and health initiatives to demonstrate the benefits of geothermal energy in delivering environmental sustainability and employment.

USA, Nevada: Solar Augmented Geothermal Energy Project to Be Tested on Existing Wells- UC Won Announces Testing of New Geothermal Power Production Technology in Northern Nevada.

Philippines: Geothermal Energy Companies Confirm Consolidation - AC Energy Inc., the energy platform of the Ayala conglomerate, has finalized a deal with the Phinma Group to acquire the latter’s power business for a total of P6 billion.

USA: Geothermal Steam Generating Capacity is 3,850 MW at the End of 2018 - New geothermal steam generation in 2018 amounted to an additional 82 MW from 4 units. Most of this came from ORNI (Ormat) 41 LLC’s 61.8 MW McGinness Hills Geothermal Project in Lander County, NV going online.

New Zealand: MT Survey Reveals a Possible Large, Untapped Geothermal Resource between Rotorua and Taupō - In short, the results show the association between geothermal and volcanic processes is closer and shallower than previously thought.

USA, California: Three Day Energy Conference at Geothermal Energy Hot-Spot - 12th Annual Imperial Valley Energy Summit (Imperial Valley Economic Development Corporation) April 24-26, 2019, Imperial Valley College, Imperial, California.

Republic of Ireland: Porcupine Basin "a Potentially Significant Geothermal Resource" - The reservoir is both massive and porous with the potential to contain in excess of one trillion litres of 'boiling' water and therefore comprises a potentially significant geothermal resource.

Europe: Swiss Company Wins Ruggero Bertani European Geothermal Innovation Award- the Ruggero Bertani European Geothermal Innovation Award 2019 was awarded to the Swiss company Jansen AG, for their Jansen HIPRESS borehole heat exchanger, a novel technology for applications in depths of 300+ meters, that allows the exploitation of high temperatures at greater depths improving, at the same time, the efficiency of the heat pump.

Global: Dr. Andrew Sabin is the New President of the Geothermal Resources Council - The Geothermal Resources Council (GRC) has welcomed Dr. Andrew Sabin as the 27th President of the global geothermal energy organization, succeeding Maria Richards.

Germany: IGA Invites Interested Hosts for World Geothermal Congress 2023 - The International Geothermal Association (IGA) is looking for the host to prepare a detailed plan on the organisation of World Geothermal Congress 2023.
