Several Hungarian cities already have working geothermal heating systems, but the hot thermal karst aquifer extending under the capital city was only used by the numerous thermal baths till now.

The two geothermal wells just created reached the hot aquifer at around 1300 meter depth. The first well, designed as pumping well provided water of about ~72 Celsius degrees, and yielded more than 1300 liter/minute (preliminary data before acid-treating). The second, re-injection well just reached a huge karst cavern at the depth of about 1250 meters last week.
