Netherlands: 264 MW of Geothermal Projects Apply for Renewable Subsidy

Netherlands accepts applications for 3.2 GW of solar in second round of 2017 SDE+ program (PV magazine International)


Netherlands Enterprise Agency (Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland – RVO) announced that it has received a total of 5,783 applications with a combined capacity of 5.3 GW for the second round of its 2017 SDE+ (Stimulering Duurzame Energieproductie) program for large-scale solar and renewable energy power projects.

Of these projects 264 MW was allocated to geothermal projects.

The SDE+ compensates for the difference between the price of renewable energy and the market value of the energy supplied. Subsidies are allocated for periods of 8, 12 or 15 years depending on the maximum number of full load hours for each technology.
