The Salton Sea has a beautiful and troubled history, one that has effects that ripple from the shore of the sea, across the Coachella Valley and throughout Southern California.

Join The Desert Sun and UC Riverside Palm Desert Center for a visually dynamic, interactive event that will help you understand how we got here, and what is at stake as lawmakers, experts and activists try to formulate a plan to avert environmental crisis.

We'll hear from Salton Sea locals who are affected by the sea, and environmental experts who can put it into perspective. Come early to experience the virtual reality project recently produced by journalism students at USC and Desert Sun journalists.
