Indonesia: Tender for Renewable Energy Power Plants Coming Next Month

PLN to hold tender for renewable power plants in May (Jakarta Post)

State-owned electricity firm Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) plans to hold a tender for power plants generating renewable energy in May in a bid to meet the government’s goal to supply 23 percent of the national energy mix from renewable sources by 2025.

According to PLN’s electricity procurement business plan (RUPTL) for the 2017-2026 period, the company plans to acquire an additional 632 megawatts (MW) of electricity from renewable energy sources this year, almost half of which will come from geothermal power plants.
