USA, Idaho: Exergy to Provide Two ORC Turbines for 32 MW Walker Ranch Geothermal Power Plant

Exergy Enters The U.S.A Market With a New Geothermal Project

New partnership in Walker Ranch Energy project in Idaho for the development, construction and exploitation of a 32 MWe geothermal power plant

Italian company EXERGY, exhibiting next week at the GRC Annual Meeting & GEA Expo, has announced the participation with a minority share in the investment capital of Walker Ranch Energy geothermal project in Malta, Idaho, USA. This new partnership opens up new perspectives in the North American market, one of the most important for EXERGY.

The Walker Ranch Energy project consists in the development, construction and operation of a geothermal binary plant exploiting a medium enthalpy geothermal source (140 C°, 285 °F) for an installed capacity of 32 MWe. Agua Caliente LLC, a company majority owned by AMG National Trust Bank, is the main project sponsor. The construction phase is expected to begin in 2016 and the plant will be operational in Q2, 2017. EXERGY’s participation in Walker Ranch project includes also the supply of two binary cycle units based on Radial Outflow Turbines for the plant, 16 MWe power each.

Exergy, the Italian technology leader in the design, engineering and manufacturing of Organic Rankine Cycle systems with the pioneering Radial Outflow Turbine technology will be present at the upcoming GRC Annual Meeting & GEA Geothermal Energy Expo from 20th to 23rd September at the Peppermill Resort & Casino, Reno USA (EXERGY booth: 203 Tuscany ballroom).
