Idemitsu to Build 5 MW Geothermal Power Plant in Southwest Japan (Bloomberg)

Idemitsu Kosan Co., will build a 5-megawatt geothermal power station in the southwestern prefecture of Oita, the company said in a statement Monday.

The new project will use binary technology, a type of geothermal power plant that allows lower-temperature geothermal reserves to be used than is traditionally found in power generation using underground heat.
