Scientific Drilling International Names Phil Longorio as New President (Press Release)

Scientific Drilling International announces the appointment of Mr. Phil Longorio as President of the Company and its’ affiliates around the globe. Based at the Corporate Headquarters in Houston, TX, Longorio will oversee all of Scientific Drilling’s disciplines focused on technology and service in the directional drilling, wellbore surveying, and production logging markets worldwide.

Phil is a 35+ year veteran of the oil and gas service industry, and has held various executive management positions with both major and independent oil service companies. Longorio joins Scientific Drilling after a six year tenure as the Senior Vice President for TETRA Technologies, Inc. where he was responsible for their Energy Services and Chemicals divisions.   Prior to joining TETRA, Mr. Longorio served as President and Chief Executive Officer of WellDynamics B.V., a joint venture between Halliburton Energy Services and Shell Technology Ventures providing intelligent well technology.   From December 1999 through February 2004, Phil served as Vice President of Halliburton Energy Services responsible for Sperry Sun Drilling Services, following a variety of executive management roles within the Halliburton enterprise.   Mr. Longorio started his career as a Wireline Logging Engineer for Gearhart Industries, which was acquired by Halliburton in 1988.
