Greenearth Still Committed to Anglesea Geothermal (Surf Coast News)

An unstable climate for investment in the renewable energy sector is not affecting the commitment of an energy company to a local geothermal resource project in Anglesea.

Greenearth Energy’s Geelong Geothermal Power Project (GGPP) hit a snag last month when its expression of interest (EoI) submission to the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) was rejected. The rejection could affect a $25 million state government commitment made through the Energy Technology Innovation Strategy, a state government funding channel for large scale, pre-commercial, sustainable energy demonstrations.

Greenearth Energy is hopeful of securing more time to pursue the resource.
